Upcoming Extended 45th session of the World Heritage Committee to be held in Saudi Arabia

The World Heritage Committee has elected the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as Chair of the upcoming Extended 45th session of the World Heritage Committee, which will take place from 10 to 25 September 2023 in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The committee will be chaired by H.H. Princess Haifa Al Mogrin, Saudi Arabia’s permanent representative to UNESCO.

Princess Haifa stated that “In completion of the Kingdom’s prominent role in supporting and preserving human heritage, I am proud today of accrediting Saudi Arabia as chairman of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee and for hosting of the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee for the first time in September.”
