World Heritage Youth Forum participants attend Committee Meeting simulation at ARC-WH

For the sixth day of the World Heritage Youth Forum 2018, participants attended a Committee Meeting simulation: Learning by becoming, on 22 June 2018 held at the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage in Manama, Bahrain. The Young Professionals were immersed in a simulation of the World Heritage Committee, including a comprehensive explanation by IUCN and ICCROM, two of UNESCO’S Advisory Bodies regarding the World Heritage Committee procedures, and their roles as simulated Committee Members.

The World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2018, Protecting Heritage in an Ever-changing World, taking place from 17-26 June 2018, brought a number of international young professionals from across the globe together as they explore Bahrain and the conservation of heritage and the challenges faced in an ever-expanding and urbanizing world. The forum coincides with the 42nd Session of the World Heritage Committee and transmits the values of World Heritage, and the positive impact World Heritage may have towards the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale.
