Third Cycle of Periodic Reporting of the Arab States Region begins

As part of the fundamental component to monitoring mechanisms of the World Heritage Convention, States Parties are asked to submit a Periodic Report to the World Heritage Committee every six years.

September marks the Third Cycle of Periodic Reporting (2018-2024) of the Arab States Region.  The reporting period will last for 10 months (September 2018- July 2019), during which participants will collect information and complete questionnaires.

This self-reporting process is extremely important, as it promotes regional and national cooperation, and provides vital insight into the conservation and management of World Heritage sites.

The Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage, in collaboration with UNESCO World Heritage Centre, will be providing financial and technical cooperation, as well as training workshops for Arab States Parties and experts in the field of site management and heritage conservation.

ARC-WH and UNESCO World Heritage Centre will be organizing a Periodic Report meeting in Manama, Bahrain for the Arab States Parties in November 2018.
