The Urban and Visual Identity of Jeddah
The Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage will be hosting a lecture by Dr. Mishari Bin Abdullah Al Naeem entitled “The Urban and Visual Identity of Jeddah” that focuses on the factors that contributed and formed the architectural components of Historic Jeddah, and its surrounding region.
Dr. Naeem will discuss the philosophical aspects Historic Jeddah’s unique urban features, as well as the historical, geographical, social and economic factors that shaped and created the Historic Jeddah that we know and recognize today. The epistemological questions about the urban trends of Arab cities will be answered by using Jeddah as an example.
The lecture will be held on 18 September 2018 at 18:00 at the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.
