Old city of Fez: An Ancient Arabic Islamic City

The Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage held a lecture entitled “Old city of Fez: Brief about an ancient Arabic Islamic city” which discussed the establishment and development of Fez. The lecture was presented by Professor Mouhsin Al Idrissi Al Omari, researcher of Islamic art, writer and lecturer in Casablanca University in Morocco.

The presentation introduced the architectural characteristics of Fez in terms of its general constructional and ornamentation features, as well as its similarities to other historical Arab-Islamic cities. The lecture also touched upon various efforts made by different entities concerned with the protection and preservation of the city of Fez.
