17th International Soqotra Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Soqotra (FoS) Natural and Cultural linkages on Soqotra
The 17th International Soqotra Conference and AGM of the Friends of Soqotra (FoS*) will be held in Manama, Bahrain from 25-28 October 2018. This event will be hosted by the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage, and will be the first time this international conference is held in the Arab region.
The Conference and FoS AGM emphasizes the uniqueness of Soqotra in all its aspects, and raises awareness on its heritage. Members and non-members are welcome to participate and share their research projects, interests and knowledge on Soqotra. This year’s conference theme will be the natural and cultural linkages of Soqotra. We invite those with research or projects on Soqotra to send their abstracts (for presentations or posters) that fall in line with the aforementioned theme.

The conference is scheudled to start on Thursday 25 October, and will close on Sunday 28 October. Please note that places are limited. Presentations will be selected by the organizers prior to the final selection of participants.ARC-WH and FoS will not cover travel or living expenses. Participants must apply for funding to attend this event.
