Third Cycle of the Periodic Reporting

ARC-WH and the World Heritage Centre are preparing for next week’s first regional meeting of the Third Cycle of the Periodic Reporting of Arab States (2018-2024), set to be held from 12-14 November 2018 in Manama, Bahrain.  The meeting will bring Arab National focal points for World Heritage together for the purpose of exchange and for the overall review of preservation and management efforts of sites across the region.

This meeting is a core component to the conservation monitoring mechanism of the World Heritage Convention that occurs once every six years and allows for the thorough assessment of the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) of all 84 World Heritage sites and properties in the Arab region.  The outcome of the evaluation will be prepared for the next six years (2018-2024) with the objective of promoting regional cooperation and for the effective response to unique characteristics of the Arab regional sites.

The questionnaire is being translated from English to Arabic by ARC-WH to enhance the knowledge and technical capacity of site managers and National Focal Points in the field of conservation.
