Contribution to World Heritage Cities Programme Urban Notebooks – Reflection of an Expert: Dr Shadia Touqan

At the request of the World Heritage Cities Programme, the Director of ARC-WH, Dr Shadia Touqan, was asked to contribute to the World Heritage Cities Programme Urban Notebooks (Newsletter October 2020) by providing an expert think piece.

In her video and written intervention, she discusses the ‘Historic Centre at the core of the Contemporary City’ and how “historic cities in the Arab States region represent fine examples of living urban centres that have been continuously inhabited, reflecting aspects of their original planning and evolution over centuries.”
