Organisation of impact assessment workshop in the context of World Heritage sites
ARC-WH organised an online training workshop for 15 Arab experts and professionals from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.
The experts and specialists from Arab countries engaged in this workshop will be part of a roster of resource people that could be involved in delivering capacity-building workshops with ARC-WH and ICCROM in Impact Assessments for World Heritage sites in the Arab Region. The workshop was held in cooperation with the World Heritage Leadership Program of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment.
Impact Assessment is one of the critical tools in identifying the impacts and their magnitude. Participants had the opportunity to discuss terms in Arabic with ARC-WH and the designated translator, proposing suggestions for technical terms.
