In 2019, ARC-WH, in partnership with Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiques (BACA), Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Directorate of Marine Control at the Ministry of Work and Municipality Affairs, and other national and regional partners launched a project to highlight the outstanding natural heritage of Hawar Islands (Bahrain). The report, Assessing the Ecological and Socio-economic Natural Heritage Values of Hawar Islands, was finalised in 2020. It evaluated the ecological and socio-economic baseline of the Hawar Islands, focusing on the biodiversity components of regional and international importance.
