On the 28th of May, the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH) hosted students from the Architecture Department at the University of Bahrain. This initiative is part of the collaboration between the university and the centre’s Arab Youth for Heritage Initiative. The studio focused on vertical housing design strategies and developing new solutions in the housing sector. The students worked with research and learnt an understanding of the architectural heritage and requirements in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The projects were evaluated by guest jurors in various fields from the government and private sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This includes specialists from the Ministry of Housing and other design and architecture studios. The studio, the material and the housing research were supervised by Ms. Wafa Abdulrahman Al-Ghatam.
