10th Meeting of the Governing Board Of the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage

Today, 15 February 2021, the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC –WH), based in Manama, Bahrain, welcomed its Governing Board Members to its 10th annual meeting, held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual meeting was opened by HE Shaikha Mai bint Mohamed Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Centre’s Board of Directors, and chaired by HE Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Director of Museums. The meeting was attended by Dr Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr Mechtild Rössler, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, as well as representatives from ICCROM, IUCN and ICCROM, the African World Heritage Fund and representatives from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt.

The meeting discussed ARC-WH’s progress report for all activities and projects that took place during the year 2020. Board Members were also informed of the Centre’s action plan of activities and programmes for the coming year.
