Man and Biosphere Follow-up Meeting Between the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage and Bahrain National Team
On 21 January 2020 a technical follow-up meeting between ARC-WH, the SCE and experts from the University of Bahrain met at ARC-WH headquarters to discuss the nomination file of Hawar Islands as a potential MAB Reserve.
This is the second follow-up meeting regarding the development of the nomination form for the MAB Reserve. Participants collected different contributions and data from the National Team (Bahrain), and discussed the technical and scientific components of the reports received.
The participants developed a work plan for the next steps of the project according to the general plan of the MAB Reserve for Hawar Islands timeframe.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the draft map of the Hawar Islands, where seven core areas, one buffer zone and one transitional area were drawn on the map.
