Organisation of a Workshop on the Legislative frameworks for Natural World Heritage in Arab countries
Under the title of the legislative framework for natural World Heritage in the Arab countries, a workshop on natural World Heritage in the Arab region was held from 19 to 21 January 2014. The workshop took place at ARC-WH in Manama, Bahrain, and was organised within the technical cooperation programme between IUCN and ARC-WH partnership programme TABE’A.
The workshop assessed the situation of the legislative frameworks of natural World Heritage in the Arab countries and identified and analysed the challenges faced by the legislative and legal frameworks of natural World Heritage in the Arab region. Workshop participants included natural World Heritage Site Managers and Focal Points to ensure communication between them was maintained. The countries represented were Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Iraq, Tunisia, and Libya.
