Coordinating efforts to Support the Iraqi Marshlands World Heritage Nomination Process
This coordination meeting came as a continuation of the efforts undertaken since 2009. Supporting the compilation of the nomination process requirement and designating Iraq’s Marshlands as a World Heritage site, this workshop brought together the United Nations Environmental Programme-Regional Office for West Asia (UNEP-ROWA), the Arab Regional Office for World Heritage (ARC-WH), the Iraqi Ministry of Environment (MoEnv) and the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MOTA). The main objective of the workshop was to have an overview of the steps undertaken in the nomination file and to formulate a work plan to complete the remaining requirements.
