The mission undertaken from 6 to 13 January 2014 was a joint IUCN/World Heritage Centre reactive monitoring mission to Banc d’Arguin to assess the conservation status of the site. The mission followed the World Heritage Committee decision no. 37 COM 7B.8. The rapidly increasing pressures upon the site encouraged the World Heritage Committee to request this monitoring mission, which was led by IUCN.
