In honour of the International Day of Islamic Art (18 November), ARC-WH presents a recorded lecture by Dr Abdelhamid Al Saleh as he discusses the documentation, restoration and conservation of the Mamluk Minbars of the World Heritage site of Historic Cairo. Dr Abdelhamid is the Project Manager of ‘Rescuing the Mamluk Minbars of Cairo’, which is funded by the British Council.

The restoration of the iconic Mamluk Minbars (pulpits) represents the importance of safeguarding the intricacy, beauty and diversity of Islamic art that we celebrate today.
