The workshop was organised to support the State Parties of Egypt and Libya to retrospectively prepare a Statement of Outstanding Universal Value for a number of their already inscribed World Heritage sites.

The purpose of the workshop was to address the various concepts of the World Heritage Convention in relation to the Retrospective Inventory to ensure a site’s Outstanding Universal Value is effectively documented, thereby allowing for effective monitoring of the state of conservation and better management of the site.
