Conducting Field Visit to Al-Ahsa
A delegation from ARC-WH, represented by its director Mounir Bouchenaki, visited the oasis of Al-Ahsa, inscribed in 2015 on the World Heritage Tentative List. The Al-Ahsa oasis lies 65km inland from the Arabian Gulf in eastern Saudi Arabia and is one of the world’s largest oases in the world. ARC-WH looked at the current legislation protecting the oasis and discussed each element of the management plan with all stakeholders involved.
